Our Mission
Mission: Big Bend Pets protects public health, reduces euthanasia, preserves scarce shelter resources, and solves the Big Bend region’s domestic animal overpopulation. We are committed to implementing long-term, humane solutions to 1) significantly reduce the population of unaltered, free-roaming and/or abandoned cats and 2) manage over-population of family dogs and cats.
Vision: A pet community in balance with the resources available
Values: Core values guide our work and decision-making:
● We do our work with passion, compassion, respect and kindness towards our fellow citizens
● We believe community engagement and education are the best ways to eliminate pet overpopulation.
● We believe there are better solutions than euthanasia.
● We believe every pet should be spayed/neutered
